Starting Beautiful Creatures...

Hey there guys, so today's blog post is going to be like a little update on what I'm doing and thinking at the moment, I hope that's okay with you if not don't read it :)
So the first thing I wanted to talk about was I finally decided to start another book, as you know if you've read my blog or are following me, I finished Divergent last weekend and I absolutely loved it, so I have lent it to my dear friend so she can read it too. She also lent me a book which is called Severed Heads, Broken Hearts by Robyn Schneider. I'd never heard of it before and my friend said she really liked it, so I thought I'd give it a go. But the reason I haven't picked a book up during this week is because there are two books I'm literally dying to read and they are Beautiful Creatures and The Knife Of Never Letting Go. I couldn't decide which one to read first and I sat and stared at each one struggling to decide, reading the back several times, flicking through the pages and I just couldn't decide. And so when my friend gave me her book to borrow I thought about reading hers because I just couldn't decide which one to read, plus they are both quite big books and I have to be in the right mood to read big books because as we all know I'ma slow reader and if I have a big book it takes me a long time to finish. But today I just decided to go with Beautiful Creatures because I haven't seen the film yet and I wanted to so I figured that the sooner I read the book the sooner I can watch the film. Make sense? Good. But that was the first thing I wanted to talk to you about, the second thing was that I'm going to try and do more Plushie tutorials for you because I've noticed a lot of people read them when I've uploaded them before, so I figured I'd see how it goes. Also I don't have my camera at the minute as my mother is borrowing it, that is why there are no pictures of anything I've been talking about recently, so when I get my camera and my book back I will be doing a book review on Divergent because i loved it that much!

Okay that was quite a big paragraph, but please let me know if you have any requests that you'd like to see me blog about I'm always open to your suggestions. There may or may not be a blog post tomorrow as I'm going shopping so I may do a mini haul or a big haul depending on what I buy and if I have my camera. But that's all for this post, follow me on Bloglovin if your not already the button is on the page somewhere, thanks for reading byyee!

I Hate Revising!! ...

Hey there guys, urgh I hate revising sooo much!! I'm currently revising for my french test tomorrow and it's so incredibly boring. I'm trying to do and hour then have half and hour break so I can actually carry on. My biggest mistake was picking french in the first place, and the only reason I picked it was because my teacher said it would help me get into university or something, and I don't even know if I want to go to university yet. This is just such an annoying and stressful time, I'm literally not looking forward to June when all my exams start. French is just so hard and I have to remember and A4 sheets worth of text and say it to my teacher which she records. What is the point in that, it's not testing my french skills at all it's testing my memory.... and I told her that too hah, she agreed with me!

Oh and a little side note, the other day I got my result on the art project I was working on last term and I got an A! Very happy indeed as my teacher is very strict on the A' she gives out, and we have to work very hard to get them so it's very pleasing to receive I can tell you that now :) haha

Revising also makes me incredibly tired, like I just want to fall asleep right now! Trying to use lots of tips I've seen in videos and on blogs to help me revise like revising for an hour then having a break, blasting music to wake me up and I drew up a "timetable" for the evening so I know what times to revise and when to chill. I also brought up a timer on the ever so handy internet so I won't forget to change. I currently have 20 minutes to chill left then I have to go back and revise .... *Sad Face* :(

Well that's really it to be honest, I'm feeling a little less ill than I did the other day but still cold! I think that's everyone though haha. Thanks for reading, byyeee x

I may be coming down with something ....

Hey there guys, so today I've been feelings pretty rubbish. I can't stop being cold and shivery and my throat has been hurting. I also had to go to school so I was even more miserable, with very boring classes today. So when I got home I made my first cuppa tea since last winter. See I love tea but I only drink it when it's cold so mostly in the winter to warm me up, so I don't really drink it in the summer. After a while I started to go cold again so I've had a nice warm shower and put my p.j's on and dressing gown with warm fluffy socks! This is either a sign of me being ill or it's winter, I can't decide. I also can't take non coated paracetamol and that's all we have in the cupboard. So little story for you, I very bravely went to take the two paracetamol that I'm supposed to take, the first one I swallowed and all is dandy, I then go to take the second one and I can't! I can can feel it start to dissolve in my mouth so I have no other choice but to spit it out in the sink and now I'm left with a very disgusting taste in my mouth :(.

I do like winter because I love winter clothes way more than summer clothes because I feel like they're a lot more comfy and snuggly and warm whereas summer clothes are a lot tighter and fitted (unless you have a flowy thing then obviously not). And of course Christmas is in winter. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love the spirit of going Christmas shopping with all the decorations around the shopping center and being happy and excited to open your presents. I'm rambling a bit now but it kinda fits with the topic.... ish.

To wrap it up then (See what I did there? wrap it up? presents.... no okay) I'm slightly ill and I obviously had to share it with you guys to see if you have any remedies I could try to prevent my having a full blown cold because I really don't wan that!! So comment below and remedies or pick me ups you do when your feeling under the weather, and let me no if you agree with me about winter. Do you like it or do you hate it? I want to know :) Thanks for reading byee x

One Word ...... DIVERGENT! ....

Hey guys, so I just wanted to tell you that i finally finished Passion by Lauren Kate and if I'm being honest it really wasn't that exciting. For me the ending was the best part of the book, and there's Rapture to finish the series but I'm not looking to forward to it. The only reason I'm going to read it is so I can finish the season after reading all the other ones I think I should. But yeah the series hasn't wowed me at all, the first book Fallen is good I loved that one and the third book was good but the others haven't done the same, I was actually bored at one point.

But anyway moving away from those books and onto ...... DIVERGENT!! Oh my gosh guys! I freaking love this book and I haven't even finished it! I know it's been out a while and I've had it on my shelf for quite a while too but I picked it up on Friday and spent basically the whole of yesterday reading it. I just couldn't put it down. I've got 187 pages to go so fingers crossed I'll be finished by tomorrow. And just to give you a hint on how good it actually is is that usually I'm a very slow reader and it can take up to 2 weeks or more to finish a book sometimes but this time it's taking like 3-4 DAYS!! Yes I said days! I'm rather proud of myself, it's such an achievement :)
But seriously guys if you haven't read this book you seriously need to go buy it. I don't know why I haven't read it sooner, but now it's getting towards winter I will be reading lots of books and I can't wait!
I might do a review on Divergent because I just love it so much but it depends what mood I'm in and if you want to read it, it would be helpful to me if you comment below if you want a review or not because I don't want to do a post that you don't want to read.
Okay, thanks for reading byeee :) x

I met Chinese people!! ...

Hey there guys,so I went back to school last Tuesday and in the afternoon me and some of my friends had the chance to show some Chinese educators around our school. Only two of them spoke English so it was rather difficult to interact with the others who didn't. But we tried and it was a lot of fun. We got to take them on a tour of my school, ask questions about what it's like in China and they asked us questions. I'd never met Chinese people before so it was a real experience to meet and ask questions and hopefully we get to go over to Shanghai. Before they left they gave us all a small present as a thank you gift. There were small stuffed animals from the Chinese calender, I got the snake which is quite cute.

That was just a little post so I could tell you about how I met some lovely Chinese people and how hopefully we'll be going to Shanghai!! Thanks for reading, byee! x

How to make a penguin plushie! ...

Hey there guys, so recently I made a Penguin plushie and after uploading my tutorial on the Crab plushie I thought I'd do one on the Penguin.

So you will need:

  • Black, White and yellow felt
  • Black, White and yellow thread
  • A needle
  • Some stuffing
  • Scissors
  • A pencil
  • A piece of paper
So the first step is to draw the template and draw around them. I didn't take a picture of the template because I thought it would just be easier to see this way. But you need two black oval shapes, a white smaller oval shape, two back wings and 1 black crown kind of shape for the fluff.
Thread your needle with black thread and sew both wings on the sides of one of the black ovals.

It should look like this on the inside ....

And like this on the outside, try and make you stitches as small as possible, I used a back stitch for this.
Next sew the fluff crown shape onto the top of the same black oval you sewed the wings on to. It should look like this...
Next is the face, this is where you need two black circles for the eyes, a yellowy orange triangle for the beak and I sewed the mouth on with black thread. If I did this again I'd change the mouth.
Sew the face onto the other black oval OR you could use fabric glue. Once you've done that, take the two pieces and start sewing them together, i used a blanket stitch for this.
Leave a little bit left to get the stuffing in and put as much stuffing in as possible, the more the better!
And it should look something like this, like I said before I don't particularly like the face but it was my first time make this.

I hope you try this if you do tell me in the comments below, thanks for reading, byyee x

Racing and Rowing for 1 Year!! ....

Hey there guys, so yesterday I went to Worcester Regatta and I had two races. The first race was at 10:00 with my partner Ellen, during the race both us and the opponent were neck and neck so we had to keep pushing until the very end and when we finished no one knew who won! So we sat confused and asking everyone who won, and it turns out that it went to the opponent by less than 3 feet. So we lost that one. The next race I had was with Becky and that was at 13:15 in the J17 category where before I had raced J16 so I was racing a year above my age. We started and we soon found that the boat didn't feel to well and my blades kept getting stuck in the water and I thought that was it, we weren't going to win. But we kept going and kept persevering and the bell rang and I knew it was for us as I could see the opponent in front of me. I screamed "Yes!!" and it felt amazing!! Everyone was congratulating us and I've finally won a race! Me and Becky got through to the semi finals and were against Worcester and the girls were highly rated,a lot of nerves and pressure was on for this race and if we rowed like we did last time we'd have no chance! We lined up and the umpire said the calls (Way to quickly) and we were off and from that moment I knew it was gonna be like last time. My blades were getting stuck again and we were falling behind. We kept trying but it wasn't enough the other girls won by about 1 length and a half. And I had to do all these races with an infected hand!!

And today is the day I've been rowing for 1 whole year!! I'm so happy because I always wanted to win a race before my 1 year anniversary and I did so I'm delighted. I love rowing and racing it makes all the hard work worth it when you finally get that win! Sadly I'm having to have time off for my hand to heal and get better but I'll be out again soon hopefully.

That was just a little update on what I've been up to this weekend and let me know what your doing or have done this weekend. Thanks for reading guys, byyeee! x

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!! ..

Hey there guys, so today's the day!! I'm officially 16 and I had to go to school :( But my friends made it special and I've had a good day so far! September is a good month this year because obviously it's my birthday but it's also my 1 year anniversary for rowing and I'm so proud that I stuck with it for a whole year and I enjoy every second of it! Also this month I'm going to have another brother or sister and I'm so excited for that!! And to top it off it's my brothers birthday on Saturday and I'm also racing that day. So a lot of things are happening in September. But anyway getting back to my birthday... I thought I'd show you some of my presents that my friends gave me so your included in my day :)
So for my birthday from my friend Lucy I got A notebook from Disneyland Paris where she went on holiday and a really cute mug because when it gets to winter I drink lots of tea and Hot chocolate so it's perfect! And plus I got a mug when I was 13 I got a mug and now I'm 16 I got a mug, so hopefully when I'm 18 I'll get a mug haha :)

And from my friend Priya I got the new One Direction book which I'm so excited to read (I now have 3) and the new Gallagher Girls book (Which is below) and she also got me some earrings and a necklace. Another thing me and my friends do is that for each others birthdays and for Christmas is that we write loads in each others cards so I had a lot to read :)

So here it is!! As I said earlier and in my previous post, I got the newly released "United we spy" book!! I'm so excited to read this, it's the very last book in the series and I'm so hoping it reveals everything and goes out with a bang!

But that's about it, just a little post to tell you guys it's my birthday and that I've noticed that on Bloglovin I have 13 followers so I'd like to say a big thank you it means lot, but anyway have a nice day and I'll see you soon!! byeeee x

Book series I recommend ...

Hey there guys, so as promised I'm doing the book series I would recommend you read. Now I'm gonna put this out there so your not wondering why the Harry Potter books aren't on my list and that's because I haven't actually read them all ... in fact I've only read the first one and 3/4 of the second..... I know it's a sin but I never read as a child and my mum brought me loads of books to try to get em too but I was more interested in playing with my friends so no Harry Potter will not be on the list, but unlike me you've probably read them anyway so it's all good! If it's any use I absolutely love the films and have them all, maybe that makes up for it? No it doesn't does it nowpe... moving on ...

So the first series I would recommend is The Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter, at the moment there are five books but she has just brought out the last book but I'm not sure when it's being released. But just a quick summary if you've never come across these books before, there about a spy school for young girls and Cammie the main character goes on this adventure to find out what happened to her father. I thoroughly enjoyed these books and are fun and lighthearted books if you want something quick and girly to read.

The next series I recommend to you are these, I'm not sure what the series is called but the books consist of "A Royal Match" which has the first two books "Pulling Princes" & "Stealing Princes" and the third and fourth books are "Duelling Princes" & "Dumping Princes". I absolutely loved these books are are my favorite chick flicky type of books I've ever read, there so enjoyable and lighthearted and a typical  girls life kinda books. There about an American girl who falls in love with a Prince (not so typical I know but the rest is) and she goes through school meeting other boys and mean girls and the troubles she faces. Also these books are hilarious, I laughed so much!

And of course The Hunger Games, I hope you've all read these books because they are just amazing! I was a bit disappointed in the film though as I had high expectations from reading the books. And the covers are awesome!!

And the last series I'm recommending to you are "Shiver", "Linger" & "Forever" books, when I read these books I was constantly wanting to read more and the ending was so sweet and perfect for the characters I just love these books. I've heard a few mixed reviews on them but in my opinion they are so good and the characters are great to get to know. The books are about wolves and a girl and how the wolves change into humans during the summer and how they change into there wolf selves during the winter. If you wanted to know more detail on this series I did a book review in a post a while back.

But yeah I know there are so many more series that are awesome, and at the moment I'm reading the fallen series, which is what I mentioned previously, but I'm not entirely excited about it if I'm being honest. And it's taking me a while to finish the series because there's lots of detail and things going on that it's just a bit boring in the end. But I want to finish the series so I'm gonna try to do that and I might do a review on it depending on how I feel.

But anyway, thanks for reading guys, I'd love to know your favorite book series or if you've read any of the ones I've mentioned, I'm always looking for books to read. I'll see you next time, byee :) x
